Common errors and tips for the users of web interface. Last updated : May 29, 2000 Write any of your Engilsh text enclosed in ## English##. If you get a dvips error there is a syntax problem arising due to some non-supported characters. Do not use single # as it will lead to a DVIPS error and will not give any useful output/display. In Indian script notation, ITRANS does not allow following upper case letters B C F G O P Q S V W X Y Z so do not use them. English(Roman) and Indian script can be alternated using ## toggle. e.g. ##My mother tongue is ##sa.nskR^ita\. ##Happy Birthday ##. If you want space after English text add one before ending ##, e.g. namaste ##Hello ## namaste. The space after ## is not used. oo and ee should be substituted by U or uu and I or ii. Please pay attention ta following letters which will o diirgha svara-s e.g. aa, ii, uu, and retroflex/Linguals/muurdhanya letters Ta, Tha, Da, Dha, Na. Use \- to get a hyphen (dash -). Just a period gives a vertical line | mainly for Sanskrit and Hindi. Use \. to force a period. In lines' mode there is no need to force line break using \\. Use underscore _ o tor {} to join two vowels or separate two consonents, e.g. bhaa_ii, bhaa{}ii, sad{}bhaava instead of sadbhaava. Do not use # $ @ % by themselves as they are not supported in Indian scripts. In English text (using ## text ##), add a \ before them, e.g. \#, \$, \@, \% Use of just % sign means the rest of the text is treated as a comment.
